Tribute to Arjanbhai K. Vekaria
It is with deep shock and grief we announce the sudden death of our
Vice President Shri Arjanbhai KarsanVekaria. Late Shri Arjanbai, a
philanthropist, a social worker, an advocate for dignity and respect for people
with disabilities, died on 23rd November 2013. He was 59.
Sri Arjanbhai was born in Madhapar on 6th December 1954 and was
educated in India , Uganda and the U.K. He was residing in London and was one of
the Managing Directors of Vascroft Construction Ltd. U.K.
Sri Arjanbhai had been the vice president of this organization since
1996. He was elected as Vice president on the death of his father late Shri
Karsanbhai Vekaria in 1996. Late Karsanbhai was also the vice president of the
organization then and was the founder of Viklang Kanyakunj, Madhapar. Like him,
the entire members of Karsanbhai’s family are involved in active community
service, especially for the disadvantaged persons, both in India and abroad
through donations through their Vascroft Fondation and visionary administrative
guidance and fundraising acumen of Arjanbhai.
Late Shri Arjanbhai was an
intelligent, committed and energetic philanthropist, willing to provide an
all-out effort for any project beneficial to disadvantaged persons, especially the
persons with disabilities. His passionate engagement with Shri Navchetan Andhjan
Mandal was inspiring to the donors, the trustees, the staff and the
beneficiaries of the organisation.
He
had a lot of vision about what would be best for the persons with disabilities
and how to get there. He was not only the best fundraiser for the organization
but also had good understanding what the organization was doing and helping it
to do it better, with some creativity and new approaches.
His main focus in all of his work was
restoring the dignity in disabled persons through education, skill development
and rehabilitation.
With his demise Shri Navchetan
Andhjan Mandal has lost a friend, philosopher and a guide. His invaluable
contribution to the welfare of disabled persons will live in the history of the
organisation
forever.
We pray to god that his soul may
rest in peace and to give courage to his family to bear his
loss.
The tide recedes but leaves behind
bright seashells on the sand,
The Sun goes down, but gentle
warmth lingers on the land,
The music stops and yet it echoes
on in sweet refrains,
For every joy that passes
something beautiful remains……… Handin
