֎ 14/12/2024 TO 15/12/2024 & 11/01/2025 TO 12/01/2025: SKILL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS ON ACCESS TECHNOLOGY FOR BLIND WOMEN AT MADHAPAR
Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal, with the support of
All India Confederation of the Blind (AICB), successfully conducted two phases
of the Skill Development Workshop on Access Technology for Blind Women at
Divyang Vidya Vihar, Madhapar.
The first phase (14th–15th December 2024)
introduced 18 visually impaired women from Kachchh, Anand, Bhavnagar, and
Jamnagar to smartphone basics, assistive applications like Smart On in Vision
and Insta Reader, and essential digital skills. The sessions were led by
experts, Mr. Himanshu
Sompura, Mrs. Bharti Chavda, Mr. Sandip Rami, Mr. Kishor Maheshwari, Mr.
Kailash Maru, and Ms. Rima Bhatia providing
hands-on training tailored to their needs.
The second phase (11th–12th January 2025) focused
on advanced digital literacy. 19 returning participants learned online shopping
(Amazon, Flipkart), food delivery (Zomato, Swiggy), transportation (Uber, Ola),
and online payments (Google Pay, PhonePe). They also explored AI tools like
Google Gemini AI, ChatGPT, and Meta AI for education and productivity.
Participants received certificates of completion,
expressing increased confidence in using technology for daily tasks. Trainers
and experts emphasized the importance of digital inclusion for independent
living.
This initiative marks a significant step in
empowering blind women with modern technology. Future workshops will focus on
employment-related digital skills and assistive technology advancements.
