 27/02/2024 TO 29/02/2024: DISTRICT LEVEL SPE. KHEL MAHAKUMBH

 

The District Level Special Khel Mahakumbh was a grand event held over three days at the Krishna Sports Ground in Madhapar, with the valuable support of the District Sports Office of Kachchh and the Divyang Sports and Cricket Academy Madhapar. The event saw an impressive turnout of over 600 intellectually challenged and locomotor disabled athletes who showcased their skills and determination in various competitions.

Athletes participated in a wide range of events including sprint races like the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m runs, as well as the 25m and 50m walks. They also competed in activities like softball throw, volleyball, Bocce, and team games such as badminton. The Orthopedic Games athletes displayed their prowess in events like Shotput, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, tricycle races, Wheelchair Hurdle Race, and Volleyball.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by esteemed representatives including Mrs. Jyotiben Thakur from the Sports Department, Mr. Rathwa Sahib from Social Welfare, Mr. Nareshbhai Chauhan from Social Defense, Mr. Gadhavi Saheb - Police Inspector, Former President of Jilla Panchayat Mrs. Parulben Kara, Former Sarpanch of Navavas Mr. Arjanbhai Bhudia, Sarpanch of Junavas Gram Panchayat Mrs. Gangaben Maheshwari, General Secretary of our organization Mr. Laljibhai Prajapati, Secretary Mr. Himanshubhai Sompura, Treasurer Mr. Zinabhai Dabasiya, Trustee Mr. Harjibhai Lachhani, Chief Coordinator Mr Dipakprasad. The lighting of the lamp marked the beginning of the games, symbolizing unity and positivity.

 Cash prizes of Rs. 5000, 3000, and 2000 were awarded to the winners of the district-level competition, who also earned the prestigious opportunity to advance to the state-level tournament. The event not only celebrated sportsmanship but also promoted inclusivity and empowerment for all participants.
