⫸ 21/06/2025 to 28/06/2025: INDIA'S BLIND ATHLETES TRAIN IN KACHCHH

 


    

    From June 21 to 28, Madhapar, Kachchh became the center for a unique event the National Goalball Training Camp and International Team Selection Camp. This important camp organized by the Goalball Federation of India under the aegis of Indian Blind Sports Association, Hosted by Navchetan Divyang Sports and Cricket Academy Managed by Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal - Madhapar  aimed to find and select India’s top blind athletes for international competitions.

          A total of 40 players, including 32 blind athletes from nine different states, participated. The camp was a key step toward helping these athletes compete on the world stage. Goalball is a fast-paced Paralympic sport played exclusively by blind athletes.

            The event was made possible with strong support from several organizations, including Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal, Surya Varsani Academy, and Kutchmitra Daily. Additional funding was provided by the Vascroft Foundation (UK) and the Ramji Kanji Hirani Charitable Trust. Leaders and trustees of these groups showed great support for the event.

            The camp's success was a team effort, with many people making a special contribution. Shri Vishrambhai Varsani and Shri Dhanjibhai from Surya Varsani Academy played a key role. Deepak Mankad and Mukesh Dholakia from Kutchmitra Daily also contributed significantly. Leaders from Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal, including President Shri Vinodbhai Gada, General Secretary Shri Laljibhai Prajapati, Secretary Shri Himanshu Sompura, and Treasurer Shri Zinabhai Dabasiya, all provided crucial support.

            This event is being hailed as a historic step from Kutch to the world, offering a vital opportunity for India's blind athletes to achieve global recognition.
