30/08/2025: INAUGURATION OF SPORTS SHED, FELICITATION OF GOALBALL TEAMS, AND HONOUR OF THE FIRST BLIND WOMAN TO CLIMB MOUNT EVEREST
A special three-in-one Programme was held at Divyang
Kanyakunj, managed by Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal, Madhapar, under the
chairmanship of Vice President Shri Hiralal R. Chawla.
An indoor
sports shed constructed with CSR support from BKT Company was inaugurated. On
the same occasion, the Indian men’s and women’s blind Goalball teams proceeding
to Egypt were felicitated. The Programme also included a special honour for
Chhonzin Angmo, the first blind woman to climb Mount Everest.
The inauguration plaque was jointly unveiled by representatives of BKT Company Shri Dasharathsinh Zala and Shri Pratyanchbhai Anjaria, Vice President Shri Hiralal R. Chawla, General Secretary of Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal - Madhapar and President of Navchetan Divyang Sports and Cricket Academy Shri Laljibhai Prajapati, Representative of Friends of Kera UK Shri Kishorbhai Nardani, Shri Jadavjibhai Varsani from Ramji Kanji Hirani Charitable Trust, Manager of Kutchmitra Daily Shri Mukeshbhai Dholakiya, District Panchayat Member Smt. Parulben Kara, Madhapar Junavas Sarpanch Smt. Gangaben Maheshwari, Navavas Sarpanch Shri Valjibhai Ahir, Vardhamannagar Sarpanch Shri Ronitbhai Shah, Taluka Panchayat Vice President Smt. Pravinaben Rathod, Taluka Panchayat Members Smt. Tushariben Vekariya and Smt. Bhanuben Bhudia, Social Defence Officer Shri Nareshbhai Chauhan, APMC Chairman Shri Shambhubhai Jaru, RSS representative Shri Jaydeepsinh Solanki, and IBSA representative Shri Rishikant Sharma.
On this
occasion, a Braille booklet of Goalball rules specially prepared for blind
players was released. The players and support staff received gifts and best
wishes.
The event
became more memorable when members of the Divyang Mahila Vikas Mandal honoured
Chhonzin Angmo with a shawl and a memento.
The programme began with a prayer by
divyang students. Treasurer Shri Zinabhai Dabasiya introduced the guests and
gave a warm welcome. Secretary Shri Himanshubhai Sompura, Trustees Smt.
Zaranaben Vyas, Shri Damjibhai Oza, Shri Khimjibhai Vekariya, and Shri
Harjibhai Lachhani remained present.
The programme was smoothly conducted by Coordinator Shri Rimaben Bhatia, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Chief Coordinator Shri Dipakprasad.
